Neil and Ida Down - Answered a Question by Stooke Wheeler (14 May 08 15:05)

The access to Machu Picchu is normally achieved by doing a two to five day excursion from Peru and some ships will circumnavigate South America allowing you to visit Rio and go around to Peru but that will be expensive and the excursion itself is expensive as well. There are too many permutations on that so come back with something more specific and we will try to help … regards Nei.

I did the trip to Machu Picchu and Cusco from Callao (the port of Lima) from the Fred. Olsen "Black Watch". I don't know when next they will be doing a "round South America" cruise but when they, or others make this voyage it is well worth while. Machu Picchu is fabulous.
