Normally calm & warm, light clothing and layers. All Baltic destinations are unusual & interesting. What to see depends on what ports you will be visiting. Look on the city websites. In Russia stick to the ship based excursion.

If you take what you would normally expect to wear on a summer holiday in this country and allow for the possibility of some hotter weather occasionally you'll be fine during the day. Evening wear...follow the dress code suggested in the brochure and on their web-site. Apart from St Petersburg, where it is best to use ships excursions or arrange for a local company to guide you, the rest of the ports offer so much to see and do without using a ship's excursion. Just study their web-sites and go exploring it's so easy and great......Nei.

I definitely agree with neil Down about being prepared for the weather to be like the UK. i went on a Baltic cruise last July and just like the summer we didn't have here, it was not very warm, wet and windy. As far as the Ports of call go, can't really give you any recommendations as I manged to fall over in Stockholm and tear the ligamenst in my knee and ankle so was confined to the ship for the rest of the cruise. I've also been to Copenhagen in early August in a previous year and although I occasionally needed my umbrella and a raincoat, we also had nice dry sunny days with temperatures in the mid twenties.
