Park West on Royal Carribean is getting a lot bad press. A quick "google" makes unpleasant reading. I drank their champagne and made a $1500 mistake but others have lost literally $$$,$$$. The frames in reality are worth more than the "limited edition" prints! If I go cruising with RCI I will sit on my hands and enjoy the show!!! If something seems to cheap to be true, it may not be all that it is supposed to be. Dont know about other cruise lines. Appart from that I think RCI are fab.

Neil,my other half has bought some art on our last two cruises. They were not too expensive and they will always remind us of of our holidays. There are many other things to do on a cruise if you don't want to visit the art aution(like have a drink!!!!).You could go while the art auction is on, get some free drinks and chill out for a hour. You meet some nice people.

Waste of time, and a waste of valuable ship-space.

I have not purchased any art yet but it is a very entertaining way to spend the odd hour and get free champagne. I love watching people spend their money.

I have never bought anything from them, and don't mind them being on one day but I must admit i get fed up with them being on evry day. i did have a browse once and there were a few that appealed at a reasonable price but then I had second thoughts at the hassle of getting it home and haveing no idea whether the airline would co-operate at what cost. personally i would not miss them at all .

My wife and i have been on lots of cruises and always go to the auctions where we have become good friends with the guys that work there and we are still in touch to this day. we have purchased 10 so far and hope to get many more for our hotels and home. some are very expensive and we would not buy them but just go with the ones that take your fancy and you will always be reminded of your fab cruise! i think someone mentioned about getting them home on the plane, well you do not have to worry about this as the company (global fine arts) ship them for you for around £50-£70 depending on size. im going on oceana in october so if anyone is on this ship on the 18th oct for two weeks you will see my wife and i come and sit by us, if your an auction virgi.
