On the Europa for Xmas 2005 Costa went all out to make it Xmassy for everyone. They started the celebrations almost as soon as we got on board with Xmas decorations up. The kids did Xmas cards, decorations etc at the clubs which helped decorate the ship. Xmas starts properly on the evening of 24th Dec with a traditional meal in the restaurant. They went out of their way to give you a meal according to your nationality - we got the Turkey and Xmas pud, the French couple on the next table got goose and candied fruits with cheese, the Italians got fish. They did the Baked Alaska dance then as well. The ship is R. Catholic, they do a midnight mass in the theatre for anyone who wants, the Captain and most officers attended - I've no idea who was on the Bridge! The most magnificent Buffet Maqnifique follows - the best I have ever seen on a cruise ship - it surrounds the whole swimming pool. When we returned to our cabin, the steward had left a hamper with Italian chocolates, pannetone, fruit and drinks - everyone got this whatever grade they were. All in all I think Costa did very well.
This message goes out to the Ross family, Chipping Campden who I thank very much for the input it is much appreciated - and hopefully I too will now have a good a christmas to look forward too as you did 2005, thanks again Brindley, stourbridg.
