Find Your Cruise
I've not been on melody but other MSC ships and they tend to all be roughly the same. yes the menus are Italian, especially at dinner but they always have some alternatives (usually the sme ones) like grilled salmon, chicken or steak. Breakfas is not going to be a problem as they do have more English style things like cereal (porridge, although technically that Is Scottish) eggs cooked most ways, grilled tomatoes tc. The bacon is more like the American style very crispy streaky, loads of fruits and styles of breads (I'm quite partial to the smoked salmon, cream cheese and bagel)Also highly recommend the sautee potatoes that they do in the dining room rather than the breakfast buffet. Lunch is more varied with them having dishes from different countries - fish and chips usally features at some point. The ice cream of the day is usually very good too. With MSC you have the option at breakfast and lunch of table service in the restaurants or buffet service elsewhere. personally I find the restaurant far more civilised, tends to be quieter, you don't have to wander about with a full plate of food looking for a table. With elderly parents, i'd say they'd probably prefer that and there is more chance if they don't particurlarly like anything on offer that the waiter could organise a variation or compromise for them in the restaurant than in the buffet. Although your parents prefer English, I'd recommend that you try their pizza or pastas they are extremely good and vary each day. have a great tim.
