Trust me - NO cruise ship ever ever goes down the Grand Canal - it is far too small and narrow and they would never fit under the Rialto Bridge! As you sail into Venice you will have St Marks Square to your right, the Grand Canal will be in front of you and you take the left side canal, round the back of Santa Maria Della Salute down Canal Guidecca to the port at Marittima.
