The month is not so important as the route. If it is taking a more northerly route, a line say from Cork to Bermuda or even the Bahamas, then April is just preferable but if it is staying south, a line say from the Canaries to Barbados then either is ok although thinking about it April probably has the edge with more daylight. You will have 5 hours longer on the ship going east and five hours less travelling east .. regards ...Nei.

Hi again....Sort of half way so it still depends on the route taken. If it is via Lisbon to Miami or vice versa the chances of fine weather are not as good as Lisbon to St Lucia or even better Trinidad and then Miami. I have just done a TA in April with poor weather but the Caribbean had bad weather at the same time. Snow in London and Paris a really lousy spring but last April temperatures were in the 70s+ (or 20s+ in new money). Previously we had a wonderful TA into Tampa from Dover in November. So to a large degree luck comes into it. Just remember if you're having a balcony port side for the sun Europe to USA and starboard for the reverse direction and hope that the Captain has a sun fetish as well …..Nei.

We did Carribean(last stop Antigua) to Southampton in April 2007 and we had very good weather nearly all the way, and a smooth crossing so I would say go in the Spring. Also, if you do it that way you have got the flight out of the way at the beginning of your holiday and getting off at Southampton is a breeze-no stress at all,no worrying about baggage allowances, and you don't get jet lag.
