I know most ships have disabled cabins - definitely Royal Caribbean and Cunard. Unfortunately not sure what they are like. I believe on RCL they have a variety of decks etc. We have cruised on Cunard and Royal Caribbean, and definitely recommend RCL - they are fabulous. The staff are incredibly attentive and helpful - I believe you won't have any problems with them. I am disabled but not wheel chair bound. They gave me a cabin too far away one time and after speaking to the Purser's office, I was moved to a mid ship cabin. Their free phone number is 0800 018 2020. Hope this helps. Regards, Marilyn.
We have been on several cruises with a wheelchair user, not all ships have enough, but Island Cruises who we are going with in two weeks are very good. The cabins with disabled facilities are first class, with very well equipped bathrooms, wider doors and L shaped cabins, with twin beds and more than enough room to move about. Obviously every ship has it's problems for moving around, but Island Star has not caused us any problems with disabled toilets around the ship. The biggest problem comes when those who can walk to other toilets use the disabled instead! I am not sure if there are hearing aid links in the Theatre, but you can easily check with Island Cruises. We have a great time on board and go off on our own sightseeing rather than go by coach if possible.
I take my mother cruising who is in a wheelchair. I can recommend Fred Olsen ships for their facilties on board. They have specially adapted cabins for wheelchair users, all of which are adapted with the facilities you mention. Prices vary but largely depend on which cruise and how long, but we have never paid a premium in the past.
